Samsung is just days away from unveiling the Galaxy S26 lineup, and a fresh leak suggests the Galaxy S26 Ultra could bring a surprising camera upgrade — especially for selfie lovers.
The new flagship is expected to debut at Galaxy Unpacked in San Francisco, but ahead of the official reveal, trusted tipster Ice Universe has shared new details about the device’s front camera.
New Sony Sensor for the Selfie Camera
According to the leak, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will continue to feature a 12MP front-facing camera, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
However, the big change lies in the sensor.
Samsung is reportedly switching to a Sony sensor, replacing the Samsung ISOCELL 3LU used in the previous model. While core specifications are expected to remain the same — including:
- 1/3.2-inch sensor size
- 1.12µm pixel size
- f/2.2 aperture
— the new Sony sensor could improve image processing, dynamic range, and low-light performance.
Wider Field of View
Another notable upgrade is said to be an 85-degree field of view, offering slightly wider selfies — ideal for group shots and vlogging. The hole-punch cutout may also appear slightly larger compared to the S25 Ultra.
What to Expect Next
Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed these details yet, but with Unpacked just around the corner, we won’t have to wait long for full specifications.
If the leak is accurate, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may deliver meaningful front-camera improvements — even if the megapixel count stays the same.
Stay tuned for full coverage once Samsung makes it official.
